Last week, Greater Vancouver Realtors (GVR) introduced two new team members. Ashutosh “Ash” Anil has been appointed as the first-ever chief membership officer (CMO), and Craig Munn as the chief corporate development officer (CCDO), a new role within the organization.
CMO role ‘signals our long-term commitment to providing an innovative and superior customer service experience’
The CMO is a newly created senior leadership position aimed at helping GVR enhance its tools, technology, systems, and processes to support over 15,000 realtor members and 500 real estate brokerages.
“The establishment of the CMO position demonstrates our dedication to offering an innovative and superior customer service experience to our members on a daily basis,” shares Jeff King, GVR’s CEO.
What Anil brings to the CMO role
Anil started in the role on September 23 and is responsible for enhancing strategy, direction, and service in areas such as MLS, professional development, member services, events, and professional standards.
With extensive experience in leading customer experience operations and transformations across various industries and countries, Anil has worked for brands like Three Telecom UK, Rogers Communications, Best Buy Canada, and others. King expresses, “We are delighted to welcome Ash to our leadership team. He brings a wealth of experience and talent to this newly developed role within the organization.”
‘We need talented people exploring new partnerships & other opportunities that allow us to disrupt, evolve & innovate’
As CCDO, Munn will assist in leading strategy implementation, stakeholder engagement, pursuing key business opportunities, and building and strengthening partnerships and relationships within the profession and business community.
King emphasizes, “The purpose of this new leadership role within GVR is to ensure we’re dedicating time and resources to think differently about our business. Times and conditions are changing, and we need talented individuals exploring new partnerships and opportunities to disrupt, evolve, and innovate our products and services.”
What Munn brings to the CCDO role
Having previously served as the vice president of communication and events at GVR, Munn’s responsibilities included internal and external communication, media and public relations, content strategy, issues management, and stakeholder engagement.
Before joining GVR, Munn worked as the press and public affairs officer at the British Consulate General in Vancouver and as a reporter for newspapers across the Lower Mainland.
King acknowledges, “Craig is a sharp and results-focused business leader who will play a crucial role in helping us achieve our goals in the short and long term.”
