Working at a company can make you feel like a star, but how many people receive glowing reviews from their former boss after moving on to a new job?

Karen Yolevski has left a lasting impression at Royal LePage Real Estate, with CEO Phil Soper describing her as “a delight to work with” and expressing that he will miss her. Soper believes that Carson Dunlop will benefit from having her lead their team.

Yolevski, who served as the COO at Royal LePage, will transition to the role of CEO at Carson Dunlop Home Inspections starting on Jan. 6.

During her time at Royal LePage’s head office in Toronto, Yolevski worked closely with Soper and played a vital role in managing 21 corporately owned offices across Ontario, B.C., and Quebec. She was also a key member of the executive team.

A career built on versatility and vision

Upon joining Royal LePage in 2021, Yolevski aimed to enhance the business, drive innovation, strengthen the brand, and improve services.

As a leader focused on people, Yolevski implemented various initiatives to boost operational efficiency, integrate technology for better service delivery, and solidify the company’s position as an industry leader. She prioritized ensuring that corporate team members felt valued and heard, whether locally or while traveling.

Yolevski’s career has followed a diverse path, starting as a lawyer specializing in real estate, corporate governance, and strategic advisory services. She has held leadership positions in various sectors, including proptech platforms, title insurance, and financial services.

Embracing the next chapter

Transitioning from her role as vice president and chief legal counsel at Flexiti Financial, Yolevski discovered her passion for business and operational aspects, particularly in real estate.

Yolevski looks forward to her new role as CEO at Carson Dunlop, a company with a strong reputation in the industry. She plans to focus on learning, listening, setting goals for growth and innovation, and raising awareness about the company’s education and software offerings.

Recognizing the gender disparity in the home inspection field, Yolevski emphasizes the importance of female representation in all aspects of real estate transactions, from Realtor to inspection to aftercare.

A champion for women in real estate

Yolevski values her role in mentoring women to achieve their career aspirations and providing leadership and guidance. She plans to continue supporting and empowering women in the industry.

Her career has afforded her the opportunity to travel, enriching her experiences and knowledge of the Canadian market. Yolevski appreciates the importance of Canadian leadership in navigating the country’s diverse regional markets.

While Toronto holds a special place in her heart, Yolevski reflects on her journey and the valuable skills gained from her legal background. She looks forward to leveraging her expertise in her new role and contributing to industry events and media.

Reflecting on the praise from her former employer, Yolevski attributes it to the mutual respect and admiration shared with her colleagues at Royal LePage.

She commends Soper for his leadership and the supportive environment at Royal LePage, highlighting the professionalism and familial atmosphere within the company.

Yolevski recognizes Soper as an exceptional leader in the real estate industry, noting his role in keeping Royal LePage at the forefront. She values the relationship she has with Soper and appreciates the opportunity to work alongside him.

Yolevski is also receiving accolades from her new colleagues at Carson Dunlop, setting the stage for a promising future.
