New Petrobras (NYSE:PBR) CEO Magda Chambriard announced her new management team on Friday, with the appointment of three directors that bring a long history in Brazil’s state-run firms.
The new CFO is Fernando Melgarejo, appointed to take over from Sergio Caetano Leite, who was ousted alongside former CEO Jean Paul Prates last month; Melgarejo has spent 37 years at Banco do Brasil, including the last two years as a director at the bank’s pension fund – Brazil’s largest – and is a member of the board and audit committee of energy firm Neoenergia.
The new chief officer for engineering, technology and innovation is Renata Baruzzi, who first joined Petrobras (PBR) 38 years and is now managing the company’s integrated logistics management area.
Heading exploration and production is Sylvia dos Anjos, a retired Petrobras (PBR) geologist with 42 years’ experience in the E&P area, the company said.
Petrobras (PBR) top management will now have four female heads, including the CEO, compared with just one in the previous administration.
