A team of 27 individuals from Royal LePage successfully raised $191,000 during the Colombia Ride for Shelter, a challenging nine-day expedition across the northern region of South America.
The journey involved navigating through deserts, lush jungles, and mountainous terrains.
Veteran rider Val Brooks, a Realtor at Royal LePage Wolle Realty, expressed, “Not one of us completed this adventure without experiencing bumps, bruises, scratches, or pain. However, our discomfort is insignificant compared to the cause that motivated us to participate in this journey.”
This event was organized to support the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, requiring each rider to raise a minimum of $3,000 and cover their own trip expenses.
In addition to the funds raised, a donation of $3,000 was made to Helmets for Kids, a Colombian charity providing helmets to children who depend on motorcycles for transportation.
The Colombia Ride for Shelter is part of a larger initiative that has raised over $321,000 for The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, which supports local women’s shelters and national programs addressing intimate partner violence in Canada.
