York Regional Police are currently on the lookout for missing Markham realtor, Yuk-Ying (Anita) Mui, aged 56, as reported by the Toronto Star and CBC News. Mui’s disappearance is considered to be under “suspicious” circumstances.
According to Stephen Chow, president of Century 21 Atria Realty Inc., Mui left her Markham residence at her usual time of 9:30 a.m. on Friday. She had a conversation with one of her adult sons around 11:00 a.m. that day and has not been in contact since.
Later in the day, Mui’s vehicle (a white 2024 Mercedes-Benz) was found by the police in a parking lot in Scarborough near Finch Avenue East and Warden Avenue.
Constable Lisa Moskaluk informed CBC News reporters that there is no “suspicious evidence” regarding Mui’s disappearance, but the lack of communication with her family has raised concerns. Moskaluk mentioned that Mui’s whereabouts on Friday morning and her presence in the Scarborough lot remain unknown as her schedule was erratic.
Constable James Dickson, a spokesperson for York police, revealed that investigations suggest Mui may have been spotted in a rural area in York Region near Kennedy and Vandorf roads in Stouffville, approximately 20 minutes north of her last known location.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen Mui or her vehicle to come forward. Mui is described as 5’6” tall, 130 pounds, with a medium build, brown eyes, and straight, shoulder-length black hair.
